Lhuan-dre Pretorius Renders RVD's Efforts Null
However, Rassie van der Dussen battled it out for his team and played a gutsy knock of 91 runs from 64 deliveries. His resilient display helped Cape Town post a competitive total of 158 runs at the end of their 20 overs.
It looked like a fighting total on the surface. But the Royals were upto the task from the very beginning of the innings and did a clinical job of the task ahead of him in the end. Lhuan-dre Pretorius, the 18-year-old opener for the Royals, led the charge in batting and played a brilliant knock of 83 runs from 52 deliveries. The southpaw's effort ensured that the Royals did not suffer any major slip-ups in the chase. They went past the target in 19 overs with six wickets in hand.
Trent Boult Tries To Play With The Batter's Mindset
While the Royals snapped a convincing win in the end, Trent Boult did his best with the ball for the MI Cape Town. Towards the end of the innings, he was even seen sledging the batter, trying to get under his skin. Although Boult's tricks did not work, he bowled a relatively economical and effective spell. Boult picked up the wicket of Joe Root and conceded only 26 runs in his four overs.
