Ihsanullah, the Pakistan fast bowler who announced his retirement from all franchise cricket on Tuesday, 14th of January has taken back his decision under 24 hours. Ihsanullah was not picked by any PSL franchise in draft and made an impulsive decision to retire from franchise cricket, but has now decided to make himself available again, stating that he took the hasty decision in an emotional state.
The pacer expressed his desire to play again in PSL while speaking to Geo Super, a TV channel in Pakistan. He stated that there are still four months left for PSL and he would work hard and try to play in the league. Ihsanullah first came into limelight in PSL 2023 because of his raw pace and ability to strike regularly, picking 22 wickets in 12 matches.
Ihsanullah Eyes Comeback After Long Injury Layoff
He then went onto play four T20Is for Pakistan and picked six wickets, but got injured on his ODI debut and was out of action for more than a year. Ihsanullah's recovery to full fitness was subject to lot of debates and criticism with many questioning PCB's indifferent approach towards the pacer.
Ihsanullah finally made his comeback to competitive cricket with Champions T20 Cup for Dolphins. However, he picked only two wickets in four matches and seems to be away from his best which probably led to his non-selection in the PSL draft. The pacer has now promised to work hard and bring himself back to the level he was before his injury, and could well be seen in action in PSL soon, if he gets fully fit.
