Joe Root's wicket of George Linde (Source:@SA20_League/X.com)
Joe Root is one of the finest batters of this generation, and though he has not played much T20Is, he has played quite well in the shortest format at the domestic level. He is now playing SA20 for the first time and in the two games so far has done well with the bat.
In the third game he has decided to show his talent with the ball as well and bowled three overs for 24 runs with one big wicket of George Linde. Root got the wicket of Linde at a crucial juncture of the game as MI CT were looking to press the accelerator at the start of the final five overs with eight wickets in hand.
Paarl Royals Restrict MI Cape Town To 158 Despite Rassie Van Der Dussen's Heroics
The former English skipper came 'round the wicket and fired a quick delivery on off. George Linde, the southpaw went for a big sweep, but missed the ball completely and the ball shattered the stumps. It hampered Cape Town's momentum and they ended up scoring just 158 after 20 overs when they looked set for a lot more at one point in time.
Rassie van der Dussen was the one who showed his class with the bat and scored 91 off just 64 balls as rest of the batters struggled to get going on a sticky pitch. Mujeeb Ur Rahman bagged two while Galiem got the first breakthrough. Overall, a disciplined bowling effort has made sure that Royals are in with a great chance going into the second half.
