Ever since making a comeback from injury, Australia's Travis Head has been on a run-making spree, firstly starring for the World Cup 2023 winners in the Cricket World Cup in India, and now making valuable contributions in the Test against West Indies.

On day 2 of the ongoing Adelaide Test, West Indies looked to outclass Australia, reeling the home side of 113 for 4, before Head took the game away from the opponent's grasp. Head followed his trusted aggressive approach, first ensuring Australia took the lead and then notched up a magnificent century.

Head's seventh Test century and second hundred in his hometown took just 122 balls, laced with 12 fours and one six, which came on the last ball of the 68th over via an excellent straight drive for a boundary off Windies spinner Gudakesh Motie.

With his hundred completed, Head looked to charge West Indies bowlers and looked to extend Australia's lead as much as possible hitting in-form Shamar Joseph for back-to-back sixes before falling to Alzarri Joseph on a score of 119.

In 46 Tests, Head has amassed 3,104 runs with seven tons and 16 fifties.

Head stitched crucial stands with wicketkeeper-batter Alex Carey, Mitchell Starc, and captain Pat Cummins worth 39, 54 and 33, respectively.  As of writing Australia are 260 for 8, with Cummins and Nathan Lyon batting on 10* and 4*, respectively with the lead stretched to 72 on Tea at Day 2.
