[Watch] Thushara's Brilliant Slower Delivery Foxes Phil Salt As MI Draw First Blood

Phil Salt, who has been outstanding for Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens, had a rare failure when Nuwan Thushara foxed him with a brilliant slower delivery.

With a rain-curtailed game taking place, and the match being reduced to 16-overs per side, KKR needed a solid start from their openers. Salt hammered the very first ball of the match for a maximum, but his innings was short-lived as Thushara had the last laugh and got rid off him on the 5th delivery.

The slinger bowled a surprising slower ball that foxed the KKR opener. Salt was a touch early in his attempted slog as the ball took a top-edge and the fielder at fine leg took the simplest of catch to silence the Eden crowd, who had high hopes from the English batter.

His opening partner, Sunil Narine followed him back to the pavilion in the very next over, when Bumrah castled his stumps.

The match had a near 2 hour delay as Kolkata witnessed heavy rain. However, the Eden Gardens drainage system is world-class and the match eventually started with MI winning the toss and Hardik electing to bowl first.

At the momen t, Venkatesh Iyer has joined hands with skipper Shreyas Iyer, as the duo look to resurrect the innings.
