In what comes as a bad news for cricket fans across the globe, the third day's play of the Headingley Test is all set to be affected by inclement weather, as it's raining cats and dogs in Leeds. The third Test between arch-rivals, Australia and England, has witnessed a proper see-saw battle so far, with each team showcasing its prowess and giving the opposition a run for the money. However, as the stage is all set for a cracking third day, a persistent downpour at the venue has significantly reduced the chances of a full-fledged game.

As per the latest visuals, it's raining quite heavily in Leeds, which is why we could witness a delayed start to the third day's play between two extremely competitive units.

As it can be seen in the video above, rain and inclement weather are set to play spoilsport in this well-poised Test match. As per the standard protocols, the on-field umpires will set a revised timetable for the day only after assessing the playing conditions, especially the pitch and the outfield, once the downpour stops.

Regarding the game, Australia are in a tricky situation, placed at 116 for four, having a lead of just 142 runs with six wickets in hand. Although a consolidating stand between Usman Khawaja and Marnus Labuschagne got the visitors off to a good start, Moeen Ali helped England bounce back, providing them with crucial breakthroughs of Labuschagne and Steve Smith.
