In the ongoing first Test between Pakistan and South Africa at the Supersport Park in Centurion, the hosts are in deep trouble as they are 116/8 after lunch on day 4. The Proteas started off the day on a positive note as skipper Temba Bavuma and Aiden Markram stitched a crucial stand of 43 runs for the 4th wicket.

However, Aiden Markram was the first to depart on day 4. Meanwhile, skipper Temba continued with his brand of cricket and was solid at the crease. He sought trouble on a couple of occasions after there was a loud appeal of caught behind, but there was no edge on the Snickometer as the ball hit his thigh pad.

Bavuma Doesn't Review Umpire's Decision

However, on the 4th ball of the 30th over, Pakistan finally got the crucial breakthrough as Mohammad Abbas got rid of Bavuma. It was a sharp ball nipping in that took an edge of Bavuma's bat and keeper Mohammad Rizwan made no mistake with the gloves.

Bavuma too returned to the pavilion hanging his head in guilt. Things turned bizarre after the replay showed that there was no spike on the snickometer. It was a brain-fade moment that left several in the stands and dressing room shocked. Watch the instance here.

Temba Bavuma's Wicket Leads To A Collapse For Proteas

When Bavuma returned to the pavillion, South Africa were 96/5 and required 52 runs to win with five wickets in hand. However, soon the Proteas lost next three wickets of just three runs that put them in danger.

It is worth noting that South Africa need just a solitary win to qualify for WTC final. At the time of writing this article, South Africa are 120/8 and still require 28 runs to seal a win.
