South Africa had a great start to the Women's T20 World Cup final against New Zealand at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Ace South African pacer Ayabonga Khaka got rid of Georgia Plimmer, thanks to a brilliant catch from Sune Luus.

The incident occurred during the second over of New Zealand Women's innings after South Africa Women's captain Laura Wolvaardt won the toss and opted to bowl first. The White Ferns openers Suzie Bates and Georgia Plimmer came out with a positive mindset, taking on the Proteas bowlers right from the word go.

However, Plimmer eventually paid the price for her ultra-aggressive approach, with Khaka getting her prized scalp. From over the wicket, the right-arm speedster bowled an in-swinger that came back slightly into Plimmer after pitching around the good length.

The right-handed batter charged down the track and played a lofted shot in order to keep the bowling side under the pump. However, her attempts went in vain, as she failed to clear the long-on fence, where Sune Luus judged the ball brilliantly and took a great catch. Considering it was a skier, Luus' incredible fielding effort received massive applause from cricket fans worldwide.

After the explosive batter departed, all-rounder Amelia Kerr joined the experienced Suzie Bates in the middle. At the time of writing, New Zealand Women were 38 for one in 5.2 overs, with Bates and Kerr batting on 20* and 8*, respectively.
