The 35-year-old Steve Smith just pulled off one his best catches ever in the on-going fourth Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy. However, his stunning grab came at the wrong moment for Team India as they lost Nitish Kumar Reddy in the process for just one run.

The game currently underway at the Melbourne Cricket Ground is a crucial one from India's perspective, who are yet to book a berth to the WTC Final and Nitish Kumar Reddy’s dismissal to Nathan Lyon was a pivotal moment in the match, leaving India in deep trouble.

On 63.2, Lyon bowled a beautifully flighted delivery, pitching on a good length outside the fourth stump. The ball spun sharply back in as Reddy leaned forward to defend, but he played inside the line, getting a thick outside edge. The ball flew to Steven Smith at first slip, who took a sharp catch.

Nitish Reddy Falls; Tensions Mount

Reddy, the centurion in the first innings, was dismissed for a low score, and Australia celebrated a crucial breakthrough. This wicket marked the third in quick succession for Australia, signaling a shift in momentum and leaving India in a precarious position. A gutted Nitish Reddy was forced to make a long walk back.

At the time of writing, India are at 138/7.
