On Wednesday, Indian opener, Yashasvi Jaiswal was involved in a sledge war with 19-year-old Sam Konstas during the fourth Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground. Yashasvi, who was going strong, unfortunately succumbed under the immense pressure and fell.

Konstas, who made a name for himself after his fiery exchange with Virat Kohli in the first innings has been a true successor of David Warner. As the cameras panned throughout the MCG on Day 4 and 5, Konstas was visibly seen imitating his 'shoulder-incident' with Kohli and grabbing the limelight despite being dismissed cheaply by Jasprit Bumrah in the second innings.

Continuing to meddle with India and their players, the gutsy player this time have an exchange with Yashasvi Jaiswal during the game. However, Jaiswal had no time for Konstas on-field non-sense as he shut him down in an instant.

As retrieved by the stump mic, the 22-year-old is heard responding to Konstas taunt by saying, 'Do your Job!' (Apna Kaam Kar). He is also heard asking Alex Carey 'Why is he talking?' and saying some other things before returning to play.

But it did not end there as Jaiswal, who was evidently annoyed by Konstas' behaviour, played a shot right at him and hit his arm. While Konstas did not show any pain, he was indeed hit on hand.

Yashasvi Jaiswal Falls And So Does India's Hopes

Yashasvi Jaiswal's dismissal in the ongoing Test match sparked controversy and frustration for India. On 84, Jaiswal attempted a pull shot off Pat Cummins but missed, with the Australian players immediately appealing for a caught behind. The on-field umpire, Joel Wilson, was unmoved, but Cummins reviewed the decision, and the TV umpire, Sharfuddoula, was called in.

Although the Snicko showed no clear spike, Sharfuddoula believed he saw a deflection on the front-on visuals and overturned the original decision. Jaiswal, visibly stunned, was forced to walk off, having missed out on a well-deserved century for the second time in a row. The Australian crowd erupted in celebration, while India was left reeling, losing their well-set opener at a crucial juncture

At the time of writing, India are at 150/8.
