Shubman Gill is one of the rising stars in world cricket and the youngman has been absolutely brilliant in ODIs in the last few years. He has continued that form in the England series as well and after two consecutive fifties, the right-handed batter has now smashed his seventh ODI hundred in Ahmedabad.
The batter got going in the third over of the game with a lovely cover drive and then continued to find boundaries at regular intervals. India lost Rohit Sharma early, but Gill kept going and helped Kohli ease into his innings by scoring runs at his end at a brisk rate. The India number 3 and Shubman Gill then notched up a 116-run stand and after Kohli departed, he continued to build a valuable stand with Shreyas Iyer.
Shubman Gill Continues Great Form Against England
Shubman Gill eventually got to his century in the 32nd over which included 14 fours and two sixes. He took 95 balls to score his hundred and has once again shown why he is one of the finest batters in ODI cricket currently. He is the fastest batter to score 2500 and has 15 fifties along with seven hundreds. He has one double century in ODIs as well against New Zealand and his form is a great sign for India ahead of Champions Trophy.
Also, with the knock, Gill has continued his love-affair with the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad and has centuries in ODIs, Tests, T20Is and IPL too. He has a chance to carry on and even get a double century and India look set for a massive total with Shreyas Iyer also looking in great touch at the other end.
