[Watch] Shakib Al Hasan Tries To ‘Make Eye Contact’ with ‘Visibly Livid’ Angelo Mathews

What happened at Arun Jaitley Stadium on Monday during Bangladesh’s World Cup match against Sri Lanka will be remembered for ages. Fans across the stadium witnessed a massive moment as Angelo Mathews became the first player in the history of international cricket to get dismissed by ‘time out’.

However, it would not have been possible had Shakib Al Hasan not appealed for it due to Mathews’ more-than-three-minute delay in facing a delivery after coming into the middle.

Needless to say, Mathews was absolutely livid due to the manner of the dismissal. In fact, he requested Shakib a couple of times to withdraw his appeal, but the Bangladesh skipper remained unmoved and kept his decision intact.

The duo once again faced each other when Bangladesh came to chase 280, and Shakib came to bat at No. 4. In between, the Bangladeshi all-rounder tried to make direct eye contact with Mathews, but the latter was not interested at all after what happened earlier in the day.

Therefore, the Sri Lankan did not even care to do that and passed the ball that he had in his hand to one of his teammates.

As of writing, Shakib, batting on 81* off 63 balls, are taking Bangladesh home against Sri Lanka. The Tigers have reached 207/2 after 30.4 overs, with Najmul Hossain Shanto giving him able support with a brillaint 94-ball 87 not out.
