In a riveting clash at the ICC World Cup 2023 in Dharamshala, spectators were treated to a pivotal moment when Bangladesh's captain, Shakib Al Hasan, delivered a breathtaking blow to Afghanistan by dismissing Najibullah Zadran. In the 28.4th over of the game. Shakib, known for his impeccable control and variations, bowled a fuller length delivery that seemed to be drifting away from Najibullah Zadran. Najibullah, in his attempt to defend the ball, found himself deceived by Shakib's crafty arm ball.

In a classic case of misjudgment, Najibullah stayed leg side of the ball, anticipating it to turn sharply. However, the ball had other ideas as it continued its path without any significant deviation. The outcome was inevitable as the ball sneaked past Najibullah's bat and crashed into the stumps. The stumps were rattled, and the bails were sent flying, leaving Najibullah to trudge back to the dressing room.

Shakib Al Hasan's ecstatic celebration showed just how crucial this wicket was for Bangladesh. With Najibullah's dismissal, Afghanistan found themselves in a precarious situation, having lost half of their side in just the 29th over.

Shakib's performance demonstrated his exceptional skills as a bowler and his ability to deliver in crucial moments. Shakib also took the wickets of Ibrahim Zadran and Rahmat Shah.

As of writing, Afghanistan is 142/6 in 32 overs. With Rashid Khan and Omarzai Azmat leading the reins.
