The fifth and the most-anticipated match of the ICC World Cup 2023 so far will witness tournament hosts India lock horns with their historic arch-rivals Australia on Sunday (October 8) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

India and Australia continue their great rivalry at the quadrennial event with a chance for either team to announce their arrival at the marquee tournament and send a message across to their fans and opposition teams part of the 10-team competition.

A victory in the very first game will also help the sides set a strong footing and carry momentum with them for the rest of the tournament while a defeat could easily pile on the pressure and bog the players down amidst heaps of public expectations.

IND vs AUS: MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai Weather Forecast

The weather forecast for the India versus Australia World Cup clash on Sunday would be a cause of smiles for cricket lovers from around the globe. With 0% chances of rain and bright sunshine predicted throughout the day, we shall have no weather interruptions during the contest.

The temperatures for the game are expected to range between 29 to 32 degrees celcius. Humidity would be a concern for the players, expected to nudge close to the 80% mark. However, the predicted wind of up to 18 km/h shall ease some of the physical strain.

Notably, both sides have an incumbent top-order key player missing for their campaign opener. While Australia continues to deal with the initial absence of Travis Head, India have a concern in the form of Shubman Gill, who could be out with illness. The rest of the players are thankfully fit and raring to go.
