The Bangladesh vs Afghanistan World Cup match has been a topsy-turvy battle so far. With both the teams playing to their strengths, it needed a moment of brilliance to tilt the match in one team's favour.

That momentum was provided by Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who foxed Afghan batter Hashmatullah Shahidi to push the opposition on the back-foot. The Bangladesh pacers were dealt easily by the Afghanistan batters, but the spinners tightened the screws in the middle overs.

Shakib Al Hasan started the damage, and it was continued by Mehidy, who took the crucial wicket of the dangerous Shahidi.

He deliberately bowled an off-break, that was slower through the air. Shahidi stepped down the track and miscued his attempted slog as the ball went million miles in the air, and Hridoy made no mistake with the catch at mid wicket region.

Shahidi who never looked settled at the crease, had to go back to the pavilion for a painful 38-ball 18.

The trouble continued for Afghanistan as Rahmanullah Gurbaz followed Shahidi back to the pavilion in the next over itself.

At the moment, Afghanistan have lost 4 wickets, and are struggling against the quality of Bangladesh spinners.
