The Antigua and Barbuda Falcons are locking horns with the Guyana Amazon Warriors in the second game of the CPL 2024 at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua. The skipper of the Warriors, Imran Tahir won the toss in the match and opted to field first.

The Falcons lose Bishop early

The two openers of the Falcons, Teddy Bishop and Fakhar Zaman were expected to give them a good start. While, Fakhar Zaman played a handy knock in the last game, Teddy Bishop failed to live up the expectations. However, the management would have hoped for him to fire today and hence got a go for this match in the playing XI. 

While it was Anrich Nortje's brilliant delivery last game, it was Shai Hope's fielding excellence that brought about the demise of Teddy Bishop in this game. On the last delivery of the second over, Sinclair bowled it full at the off stump. Fakhar Zaman looked to drop the ball down with soft hands to the off side and take a quick single. 

Zaman was quick to make the call for the run, however, Bishop was a bit late with his response. It was these couple of seconds that caused Bishop his wicket. Shai Hope, who was fielding at backward point collected the ball in no time and had a throw at the striker's end. The ball hit stumps on the direct hit and the replays showed that Teddy Bishop was just short of the crease. 

James and Zaman combine for the repair job

While, the Warriors might have hoped to take an advantage of the early wicket, Fakhar Zaman and Kofi James showed great resilience in the game after that. Even after the early wicket, both James and Zaman  stayed positive and propelled the innings towards a respectable total.

At the time of writing, the Falcons are stationed at 84/2 in 9.2 overs.
