Imran Tahir Wins The Toss Invites The Falcons To Bat First In The 2nd Game Of CPL 2024

The CPL 2024 is on the way, and it is the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons taking on the Guyana Amazon Warriors in the second game of the tournament. The match is taking place at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua. 

ABF vs GUY: Team Previews

Guyana Amazon Warriors are the defending champions of the CPL. They put in a dominating show in the tournament in the last season and won the title under the leadership of Imran Tahir. They will be looking get their title defence run under the same skipper on a positive note.

The Antigua and Barbuda Falcons are the newest franchise in this tournament. They have already played their first match of the tournament against the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots. Though they lost a close game, they had a lot of positives to take from the match. The batting of Fakhar Zaman and Jewel Andrew and the brilliant display on the field by Shamar Springer will inspire the team to do a better job in this game.

The toss for this game has been done. The Guyana Amazon Warriors have won the toss and they have opted to field first.

The skipper of the Warriors, Imran Tahir, stated that he feels the pitch will stay the same for the whole match. However, his team is more comfortable chasing and hence they have opted to field first.

Here is what the two skippers said during the toss - 

Imran Tahir (Guyana Amazon Warriors Captain): "We are gonna bowl first. There is no reason for it. The pitch will remain the same. Maybe, the pitch will be better for batting later on. I'm really excited. We have a similar squad. I'm really proud to represent Guyana again, and I hope we play the same brand of cricket we played last year. So we got Rahmanullah Gurbaz, myself, Pretorius and Azam Khan as our overseas."

Chris Green(Antigua & Barbuda Falcons Captain): "Yeah, I wanna also to bowl first. I noticed that the wickets were playing well yesterday, and we want put some runs to put them under pressure. We have a strong batting lineup and a solid team overall. Same Team."
