The Guyana Amazon Warriors and the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots are crossing swords in the seventh match of the CPL 2024. The match is being played at the Warner Park in St. Kitts and Nevis Patirots.

The Warriors opted to bat first in the game after they won the toss. They got off to a decent start as both their openers looked in a good rhythm. However, Kyle Mayers gave them the first blow as he accounted for Kevin Sinclair in the third over of the innings.

Hope showed promise but failed to go big

The dismissal of Mayers brought Shai Hope into the crease. The West Indian top-order batter has been known for his perfect technique and temeperament. While there has been no doubts about the class he has, critics often spoke about the lack of dynamism in his game that is required for the T20 format. However, in the past season, Hope has remodelled his game and has adapted to the format.

In the ongoing game, Hope displayed the class he possesses against the South African speedster, Anrich Nortje. Hope played two classy shots to the speedster on the first and third delivery of the sixth over.

Hope looked all set for a big knock, however, unfortunately he could not add more 12 runs to the team's total.

Gurbaz and Hetmyer's repair job

After the departure of Hope, Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Shimron Hetmyer got together doing the repair job for the Warriors. The two players have brought the innings back on track and have laid the foundation for a formidable total.

At the time of writing, the Warriors are stationed at 152/2 in 13 overs.
