In the recently concluded 2nd T20I between Pakistan and Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground, Australia registered a narrow 10-run win against the visitors to clinch the series 2-0 with a game left. 

Australia, batting first, were restricted to just 147 runs as Haris Rauf was breathing fire and took a four-wicket haul to stun the hosts. However, Shaheen Afridi had a day to forget with the ball as he went wicketless and gave away 39 runs in his four overs. 

Shaheen Departs For A Duck

Nonetheless, Afridi had a chance to redeem himself with the bat and become the hero of the match. Shaheen walked to bat when Pakistan were 102/5 and required 46 runs to win 28 balls. 

The fans had expectations on Afridi to seal the win for his side, but the southpaw disappointed and got castled after Adam Zampa rattled his stumps for a four ball-duck. On the third ball of the 17th over, Afridi went for a slog sweep on his knee and failed to connect. Eventually, it destroyed the furniture and left Pakistan in trouble. 


Afridi returned to the pavilion with a score of 4 (2), which featured a solitary four that too on the first ball of his innings. 

Shaheen Afridi Having A Series To Forget

It is worth noting that Shaheen is yet to take a wicket in this T20I series and went wicketless in the first T20I as well when he gave away 25 runs. Although, he had a great ODI series and took nine wickets.

Afridi would hope for things to turn around for him in the third and final T20I.
