Recently recruited as Pakistan's T20I captain, Shaheen Afridi had a forgettable outing in the ongoing first game of the five-match series against New Zealand in Auckland. Although he scalped three wickets, the left-arm pacer conceded 46 runs in four overs, recording his second most expensive spell in the shortest format. 

His underwhelming performance with the ball took a toll on Afridi, as he lost his cool, expressing his frustration on fellow pacer Aamer Jamal. 

Bowling the 19th over of New Zealand's innings, Afridi started with a slower short ball to deceive Mark Chapman. But, unfortunately, the move backfired badly on the ace speedster, as Chapman pulled it perfectly behind the square. 

However, Aamer Jamal covered considerable distance from deep mid wicket and put up a stunning fielding effort only to see the ball going past the ropes for a boundary. 

While the commentators applauded Jamal's valiant dive, Afridi seemed frustrated, undermining the effort through his gestures. If that wasn't enough, he removed Jamal from that region of the field, replacing him with another fielder. 

Riding on flamboyant fifties from Kane Williamson and Daryl Mitchell, New Zealand posted a mammoth 226-run total in 20 overs. Abbas Afridi emerged as Pakistan's wrecker-in-chief with the ball, scalping three wickets for 34 runs.
