Saud Shakeel is one of the pillars of Pakistan's batting line-up in Test cricket and scored a brilliant 84 in the second innings of the first Test against South Africa. He was expected to show his class in the second Test as well after Pakistan lost two early wickets, but has failed big time and has departed for six-ball duck.
Kagiso Rabada was the one who got the better of Saud Shakeel with a lovely delivery, around off from 'round the wicket. It was the fourth delivery of the ninth over and the pacer bowled it just short of full-length, tempting Saud Shakeel to go for a drive. He went for it with hard hands, but only managed to get an outside edge which was easily taken by David Bedingham at first slip.
Saud Shakeel Suffers From Kohli's Outside Off-Stump Problem
The wicket was quite similar to how Virat Kohli is repeatedly getting dismissed in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and Pakistan are in huge trouble after conceding 615 in the first innings. The visitors are also without Saim Ayub who got injured while fielding and in his absence Babar Azam has come out to open the innings.
Babar is still batting and now has Rizwan alongside him and both of them need to dig deep and deliver for their side if they want to challenge South Africa in this second encounter. For the Proteas, Ryan Rickelton hammered 259 in the first innings while Bavuma and Verreynne also scored centuries as Pakistan bowlers struggled to find breakthroughs.
