After gaining a 2-0 lead in the series, England fought back hard against India with a win in the 3rd T20I. And to the utter surprise of the hosts, England's reserve player Saqib Mahmood, who was playing his first match of the series in the 4th T20I, stunned India early in Pune with a triple-wicket maiden.

The right-arm pacer pulled trick after trick from his bag to dismiss three of the Indian batters in no time. His effort with the ball has already put the 'Men in Blue' on the back foot.

Mahmood Sends Indian Crowd Into Shock

It was the 4th T20I happening in Pune's Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, where the English side, trailing by 2-1 in the five series, opted to bowl first, putting India into bat. The first over bowled by Jofra Archer went for 12 runs. However, things escalated quickly in the second.

Skipper Jos Buttler handed the ball to pacer Saqib Mahmood, who came around the wicket to force Sanju Samson into a false stroke with a shorter delivery without much room as the batter fell into the trap and played it into the hands of Brydon Carse at deep square leg.

Next up was the star of the second T20I, Tilak Varma, who gave the charge on the first delivery and played a loose shot which carried his edge to the third-man fielder as he departed for a golden duck.

Seeing the trouble, Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav walks in to calm the situation and plays the next three balls calmly to prevent the hattrick. However, the sixth and the final ball of the over was a little fullish, which SKY tries to whip but, unfortunately, plays it straight to short mid-on.

This sent shockwaves among the crowd, who seemed absolutely stunned seeing the scorecard as Surya departed for a four-ball duck with India's score being 12/3 after two overs.

Saqib Mahmood Faced Visa Issues Before The Series

As was the case with Shoaib Bashir during England's previous tour, Saqib Mahmood, this time, had to face visa issues from India due to his Pakistani heritage.

When England were practising before this series in the UAE, Mahmood was stuck in the UK, patiently waiting for his visa to arrive, which came a bit late.
