Sanju Samson would have hoped for a better show when he was drafted in the playing XI for the second ODI between India and West Indies.

With India resting both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, Samson had a great chance to showcase his skills against the Windies bowling attack.

However, the Rajasthan Royals skipper had a short stay at the crease, and was undone by an unplayable delivery from Yannic Cariah.

The incident occurred in the 25th over of the Indian innings, when the team had already lost 4 wickets. The wicket was turning square and Cariah took advantage of it. He delivered a leg-break on the middle stump and it turned sharply away from Samson, who was surprised by the bounce on offer.

The ball took the outside-edge and it was taken sharply by Brandon King at first slip. The Indian batter couldn't believe his luck and had to walk back for a paltry 9 off 19.

Rain interrupted the match mid-way, but when the game started after 30 minutes, India lost crucial wickets of Suryakumar Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja. At the time of writing, India are tottering at 153 for 7.
