Just when the West Indian team dominated the proceedings against a stuttering Indian side, the rain god decided to intervene and put a stop to the game.

Rain showers were predicted before the start of the second ODI, and the predictions came true as West Indies' momentum was halted by the unfortunate event.

58 percent chance of precipitation in Barbados was reported in the morning and that can play a significant part as the day progresses.

Talking about the match, India spring a surprise when they rested Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma for the second ODI. Hardik Pandya was elected to lead the team in Rohit's absence.

The Indian team got off to a flying start, courtesy Ishan Kishan's blazing half-century.

The southpaw added 90 runs for the opening wicket alongside Shubman Gill. But Gill's dismissal opened the wicket floodgates as the Indian side fell like a pack of cards.

Kishan followed him back to the pavilion, and was soon joined by Axar Patel, who was promoted at number 4. One brought the downfall of another as Stand-in skipper, Hardik Pandya (7) and Samson (9) departed in quick successions when the rain came to play the spoilsport.
