In a surprising move by the Indian team, skipper Rohit Sharma has been rested for the second ODI and Hardik Pandya is set to lead the team in his absence. Moreover, Virat Kohli, one of the standout players from the Test series has also been given a rest for the game.

Toss Updates

With the series still up for grabs, it came in as a shocker, when Hardik Pandya came down from the Indian dugout to lead the team. Two of their key players, Virat and Rohit will not participate in the contest, as India look to experiment ahead of the World Cup 2023.

Talking about the toss, West Indies won the toss and Shai Hope elected to bowl first on a sluggish surface. It is the same ground which hosted the first ODI, and the spectators witnessed a low-scoring affair as India won the game by 5-wickets.

At the toss, West Indian skipper was clear that he wanted to bowl first and put the pressure on the inexperienced Indian batting lineup. Not surprisingly, Hardik was keen to bat first as the experiment continues from the first ODI. Sanju Samson finally gets a chance in the playing XI, and so does Axar Patel.
