Indian captain Rohit Sharma made a remarkable comeback in the third T20I against Afghanistan at Bengaluru's M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Wednesday. After facing a challenging start in the series with consecutive ducks, Sharma spectacularly turned the tide with a stunning batting performance, highlighted by an exceptional reverse sweep.

The third T20I saw Rohit embracing a more adventurous approach, a departure from his usual style marked by classic shots and effortless grace. The highlight of his innings was a brilliantly executed reverse sweep against Afghanistan's Sharafuddin Ashraf.

In the 12th over's penultimate ball, Rohit expertly read Ashraf's flatter delivery and executed a reverse sweep. 

The shot was not only a display of technical brilliance but also proof of Rohit's ability to innovate under pressure. The ball soared over behind square, landing beyond the boundary for a spectacular six.

This moment of brilliance was part of a larger comeback narrative for the Indian skipper, who notched up his 30th T20I fifty. His partnership with Rinku Singh proved to be a game-changer, as they built a solid partnership, propelling India's score to 97/4 after 13 overs. This stand was crucial in stabilising the Indian innings, especially after a shaky start that saw them at an abysmal 22/4.

The duo of Rohit and Rinku showcased a combination of patience and aggression, and they will be aiming to set a target above 160. On the other hand, aware of the shifting dynamics, Afghanistan will strategise and regain control by targeting key wickets.
