Australia's young batting sensation Sam Konstas faced the wrath of Jasprit Bumrah on his maiden international outing in the ongoing Boxing Day Test at Melbourne Cricket Ground. Opening the batting for Australia, Konstas found it incredibly tough to score against the Indian pacers, particularly Jasprit Bumrah, who challenged him with pace and movement. 

After several failed attempts to get bat on the ball, Konstas became desperate, trying to unsettle Bumrah with ramp shots. Although he tried twice, Bumrah emerged as the winner on both occasions, beating him comfortably with his razor-sharp bowling. 

The incident occurred during the fifth over of Australia's innings when Konstas was trying the up the ante alongside Usman Khawaja after the Indian pacers kept the duo quiet in the first few overs. From over the wicket, Bumrah bowled a good length delivery which moved slightly away from him after pitching outside the off stump. 

However, as the batter attempted for a ramp shot, the ball flew to Rishabh Pant, beating him by a whisker. The youngster's audacious attempt made Rohit Sharma laugh, as the Indian captain expressed his emotions with a cheeky smile. 

Sam Konstas' Batting Exploits On Test Debut

Despite struggling against Bumrah initially, Sam Konstas eventually brought up his A-game in the MCG Test, hammering the ace Indian pacer for a boundary and a six. His outrageous stroke-play helped Australia break the shackles and break the Indian pacers' momentum. At the time of writing, the hosts were 37 for none, with Konstas and Khawaja batting on 20* and 16*, respectively.
