Rohit Sharma, since the time he arrived on the international scene back in 2006, was rated very highly and was considered one of the next big things in world cricket. Staying true to that billing, the man has delivered some mighty fine performances and is now on the elite list of great Indian batters. However, in the 2023 World Cup, he is proving to be a different beast altogether with his ultra-aggressive approach, something that has left opponents clueless and has taken India off to a flier.

Now, in the big semifinal against New Zealand at the Wankhede, he has once again decided to make a statement and has set the tone for India with a blistering 47 off just 29 balls. Southee though, used his experienced after being taken apart from Rohit Sharma initially and got rid of the Indian captain with a lovely slower delivery.

It was a fullish slower delivery on off and Rohit Sharma tried to launch it down the ground for a biggie. However, he miscued it and the ball went high in the air towards long off. Williamson near the fence initially misjudged it a bit, but kept his eyes on the ball and took a splendid backward running catch to end Rohit's stay in this big semifinal.

Rohit started off with a nice glance off the first delivery that fetched him a couple of runs and then slammed two boundaries to take 10 runs from the very first over of the game by Trent Boult.

He then took on from there and slammed the famed duo of Boult and Southee out of the park, dismantling the pair with great swag and class. India ended up crossing the 50-run mark in just 6th over as Rohit on his way to 47 became the man to hit most sixes in the 50-over World Cup history.

It looked like Rohit would get a big one but it was not to be, nevertheless, the man has given India another good start and the batters to follow would be looking to build on the solid foundation.
