Mohammad Rizwan was one of the rare Pakistan batters in the Bangladesh Test series who scored runs and displayed character under pressure. However, against England, on a flat deck at Multan, he has failed big time and after a duck in the first innings, he could only muster 10 runs in the second innings. Brydon Carse is the one who has taken his wicket in the second outing and Pakistan have been reduced to 59-5 in no time.
The wicket of Mohammad Rizwan came on the first delivery of the 19th over. It was a short of length delivery that pitched on off and came back in slightly. The ball did not bounce as much as Rizwan expected and the ball beat the inside edge of his blade. It brushed his pad on the way and knocked over the off-pole to leave Mohammad Rizwan absolutely shocked.
Pakistan Faltering In Second Innings Of Multan Test
It has been a terrible batting performance from Pakistan in their second innings. England managed a lead of 267 runs at the end of their first innings and it seemed that the match will end in a draw with almost no help for the bowlers. Surprisingly though, England bowlers have come up with a spirited display in the second innings and have extracted good help from the docile pitch to give themselves a real chance of winning the Test. Gus Atkinson and Brydon Carse have picked two wickets apiece so far and Pakistan's lower order now have to show lot of fight if they want to salvage a draw in this Test.
Earlier on Day 4, Harry Brook smashed a triple century and Joe Root also notched up 262 runs as England declared at a massive score of 823 in reply to Pakistan's 556 in the first innings.
