Rishabh Pant is one of the most talented wicketkeeper batters in India, and has done incredibly well in the Test cricket. However, his white-ball cricket numbers are not that great, and he is still learning that act.
Rishabh Pant Struggles As WicketKeeper After Duck With The Bat
The swashbuckling left-handed batter failed in the game against LSG with the bat, and is trying hard to make amends in the second half. His bowlers are doing a great job, but he missed out on a chance to run out Tristan Stubbs in a crucial juncture of the game.
The event happened on the fifth ball of the 10th over when Delhi Capitals were 97 for five. Prince Yadav, the debutant was the bowler and Tristan Stubbs pushed it towards covers. He set off for a single, but Ashutosh Sharma at the other end was not interested. As a result, Stubbs had to rush back to his crease, and that is where Pant made a mistake.
He could have got to the stumps quickly, but he did not. After a pause, he rushed back towards the batter's end and tried to flick it with his gloves just like MS Dhoni. However, he could not do that and Trsitan Stubbs got a life.
Tristan Stubbs, who was retained for 10 Crore, hit some big sixes after that, but eventually departed on the score of 34 from 22 balls. After his wicket though Ashutosh Sharma, and Vipraj Nigam smashed LSG bowlers all over the park and kept DC in the game.
