Indian captain, Rohit Sharma, and Rinku Singh took the Afghanistan bowlers to the cleaners in the third T20I match at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, on Wednesday, January 17.
Following the top order collapse, which saw Virat Kohli and Sanju Samson register in golden ducks, Rohit Sharma and Rinku Singh united to forge a historic 190-run partnership for the 5th wicket from 100 balls.
The hosts were in a bit of a pickle at 22 for 4 wickets, but then Rinku Singh and Rohit Sharma got together, and from that point on, they unleashed havoc on the Afghanistan bowlers, peppering every corner of M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
At one point, it seemed like Rohit Sharma and Rinku Singh were in a friendly competition, each trying to outdo the other by hitting the most sixes and boundaries.
The Mumbai batter and Rinku Singh went on the offensive in the eighth over against Mohammad Saleem Safi, taking him on with a barrage of sixes. From there on, they made their intentions clear, showing they weren't going easy on the opposition.
Rohit Sharma went all out with an unbeaten 121 from just 69 balls, packing in 11 boundaries and eight sixes. Rinku Singh played his part, staying unbeaten with 69 runs off 39 balls, as India piled up a whopping 212 runs, losing only four wickets.
Meanwhile, Team India suffered a rocky start to their innings, losing opener Yashasvi Jaiswal for just four runs. While Virat Kohli, and Sanju Samson got dismissed for golden ducks, Shivam Dube managed just one run each.
