Indian cricketer KL Rahul paid a visit to the Sri Mookambika Temple in Udupi, seeking blessings from Goddess Mookambika Devi before the England Test series

Team India is set to lock horns with England, who are travelling to India for the five-match Test series starting from January 25 in Hyderabad. This series is part of the World Test Championship 2023-25 cycle.

KL Rahul, after making a stellar comeback in Test cricket earlier in South Africa with a century in Centurion, has earned a spot in the Indian squad for the Test series against England, alongside two other wicketkeeper-batters, KS Bharath and Dhruv Jurel.

However, Rahul won’t be the first choice as the Indian team wicket-keeper heading into this series. Specialist wicketkeeper KS Bharat will take on the regular duties, while Rahul will contribute as a batter and fielder.

The Indian team's decision is based on preparing another turning pitch for the upcoming five-match Test series against England at home.

KL Rahul's stellar return during the Asia Cup 2023 marked a turning point, and he has since been a vital contributor to Team India's success, playing a major role in their journey to the final in the 2023 World Cup.

Later, he made a stunning return to Test cricket, hitting a century in Centurion against South Africa. Notably, he was dropped in the middle of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023, but this comeback probably boosted his confidence big time.
