Mohammed Shami was at his very best with the ball on Friday during India’s ODI series opener against Australia in Mohali. On Sunday, the right-arm fast bowler once again grabbed attention, this time, however, for his prodigious football abilities.

It was the first ball of the 11th over of Australia’s innings, bowled by Ravichandran Ashwin, which Marnus Labuschagne pulled through the square leg after moving outside leg. The ball was going very fast towards the boundary ropes, but Shami, running to his left, stopped the ball with his boot.

Shami's timing was impeccable, and the ball came to a perfect stop, allowing Labuschagne a couple of runs.

Everyone was in smiles to see Shami showing his football skills at Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore.

Australia, at the time of writing, are in deep trouble while coming to chase a record-breaking 400. The Kangaroos had a revised target of 317 in 33 overs due to rain's interruption, and as of now, they are struggling at 101/5 after 14.5 overs.

For India, Ravichandran Ashwin is leading from the front, claiming 3/22 off his 3.5 overs. Prasidh Krishna took the other two wickets, that too in consecutive deliveries.
