Richa Ghosh is one of the most talented young cricketers in the world and has been one of the pillars of India's batting line-up in the last couple of years. She was brilliant for RCB as well in the last season and has now started off the 2025 season with a bang, helping her team get over the mammoth target of 202 with nine balls to spare.
The wicketkeeper batter smashed 64 off just 27 balls with seven fours and four sixes. She smashed her runs at a strike-rate of 237.04 and ended the highest-ever chase in WPL history with a breathtaking six. Richa Ghosh walked out to bat at 100 for three at the end of 11 overs and RCB needed her to bat till the end to help them get over the line.

The youngster not only batted till the end, but found her mojo straightaway, hitting Gujarat bowlers all over the park. She finally ended the innings on the third ball of the 19th over when Deandra Dottin bowled a short delivery that went right in the arc of the powerful batter. She quickly picked the length and line and hammered it way over deep mid-wicket to start of RCB's campaign on a bright note.
The victory was quite a special one and it showed in the way everyone in the RCB camp celebrated with Richa Ghosh bring out a loud roar while hugging her partner, Kanika Ahuja. The win has helped defending champions start off the tournament with a bang, and they would be hoping to continue the momentum in the coming days.
Gujarat Giants, on the other hand, did well with the bat with captain Ashleigh Gardner leading from the front. They need to sort out their bowling though, if they want to make a strong comeback in the rest of the tournament.
