Delhi Capitals suffered a huge setback as Richa Ghosh's clinical stumping sent the well-set Jemimah Rodrigues in the ongoing Women's Premier League encounter in Vadodara. Coming at number three, Rodrigues looked sublime for her 22-ball 34 before Richa's magnificent stumping got her prized scalp.
Richa Ghosh Does Fabulous Stumping To Get Rodrigues
The incident occurred during the seventh over of Delhi Capitals Women's innings when Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women desperately needed someone to break the second-wicket stand. Ace Australian spinner Georgia Wareham stepped up to the occasion for RCB, dismissing Rodrigues with her wily variations.
However, Richa Ghosh was the real star, as she executed a commendable stumping behind the wicket. After hitting a boundary of the fourth ball, Rodrigues tried to put Wareham under the pump by attempting an audacious reverse sweep. But Wareham cleverly bowled a slightly wide delivery, outfoxing the batter in this process.
Richa Ghosh collected the ball and dislodged the bails in a flash before Rodrigues could get her back leg inside the popping crease. The square leg umpire referred it to the third umpire, who, in turn, declared Rodrigues out after finding conclusive evidence through the replay.
