RCB Women, the defending champions, are already grappling with a series of injuries, with off-spinner Shreyanka Patil being the latest setback. She joins a growing list of absentees, including Sophie Devine, Sophie Molineux, Kate Cross, and Asha Sobhana, all of whom have been sidelined for various reasons. In a recent move, RCB Women have signed experienced off-spinner Sneh Rana as her replacement.
On the other hand, Delhi Capitals Women had to deal with illness concerns within their camp during their season opener against Mumbai Indians Women. However, key all-rounders Marizanne Kapp and Jess Jonassen might return to the playing XI if they have recovered in time.

DC-W vs RCB-W: Captains' Thoughts
Meg Lanning (Delhi Capitals Women Captain): "I think we would have had a bowl as per most teams but we have seen teams batting first and do well. The wicket stays the same pretty much throughout the day. Yeah, there was a lot going on for sure in the previous game. We have got over that now and it's time to focus on this big game.Yeah full squad to pick from today. So, Kapp and Jess Jonassen comes back into the side which is nice. Capsey and Niki miss out unfortunately."
Smriti Mandhana (Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women Captain): "We would like to field first today. The dew has been a big factor in the last few games. The wicket becomes good to bat on after seven to eight overs. But having said that, we still have to bat and bowl well. I was very pleased. Kanika coming in and having three overs which she bowled brilliantly. And batted with a very good intent. We had a couple of practice sessions and she can work on her bowling a bit. WPL is a long tournament. You have time to come back in the game. But we are happy that we got the win on the board in our very first game. We have one change tonight. Ekta comes in place of Prema.
