[Watch] Restless Shanto Throws Away His Wicket; Bangladesh Teammate Celebrates Wildly

The Bangladesh Premier League is known to unleash some young cricketers in the country while it is also a platform where top cricketers from the country go head-to-head. The 2024-24 edition is now in its sixth game and Fortune Barishal is up against Rangpur Riders.

Fortune Barishal while batting first started decently with Tamim Iqbal playing some good shots. However, rest of the batters struggled and one of the big names to struggle was Najmul Hossain Shanto. He recently resigned as Bangladesh's T20I captain and departed for a golden duck in the first game of the season.

He was expected to make some runs in this game, but he could muster only nine off 10 balls and ended up throwing his wicket on the second ball of the fourth over. Shanto tried to force the issue against a quality bowler like Mahedi Hasan, but it led to his downfall as the bowler proved too clever for him.

He tossed it up on off and Shanto went for a big slog-sweep. He could only manage a big top edge though and the ball went high in the air towards off side where Azizul Hakim Tamim grabbed a fine catch and it was followed by a passionate celebration from Mahedi Hasan who has impressed on the international stage too in the recent past.

After his wicket, Barishal kept losing wickets at regular intervals and were soon reduced to 80 for 6 as Rangpur Riders bowlers displayed great accuracy and skills.
