Kumar’s Amazing Feat
The Cooch Behar Trophy witnessed an iconic match as Bihar and Rajasthan faced each other in Patna. After setting a huge target of 467 runs in the first innings, the Bihari bowlers played a dominating game. Among all, Suman Kumar grabbed the limelight by picking up all 10 wickets in the first innings.
Left-arm spinner secured the first wicket after dismissing Manay Katariya in 26 runs. After that, he secured Rajasthan skipper Toshit’s wicket when he was batting on 9 runs. His exceptional dominance put pressure on the opponent. Rajasthan opener Parth Yadav was going well. Kumar dismissed him in the 44th over after the opener scored a half-century. With the dominance, Rajasthan bundled out in 182 runs. This was the second 10-wicket haul of this ongoing season.
A Remarkable Hat-Trick
Kumar’s 10-wicket haul became even more special after he registered a thrilling hat-trick. In the 36th over, Kumar came to bowl, and Mohit Bhagtani was on strike. In an exceptional delivery, Bhagtani was dismissed on a duck and Kumar registered his third wicket. In the next two deliveries of the over, he sent back Anas and Sachin Sharma and completed his hat-trick.
Bihar gave a great start to the match. While batting first, they put on a huge total of 467 runs. Dipesh Gupta played a knock of unbeaten 183 runs in 381 balls. Prithvi Raj played a knock of 128 runs in 136 balls. Bihar gave a follow-up. In the first innings, Rajasthan was all out in 182 runs, and in the second innings, they scored 410/5. The match ended on a draw.
