In the ongoing first T20I between Pakistan and Zimbabwe at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo, the stand-in skipper, Agha Salman, won the toss and opted to bat first. The decision didn't go as planned as Pakistan, batting first, put just 165 runs on the board.
The visitors lost an early wicket and kept losing wickets from one end at regular intervals. Eyes were on Agha Salman to score big as he was the senior-most player in the squad in the absence of players like Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam. However, Salman played a slow and scratchy knock and had a day to forget.
Agha Salman Fails To Hit A Boundary vs Zimbabwe
The right-hand batter struggled to score runs and returned to the pavilion with a score of 13 (19), which had no boundaries. Credits goes to Dion Myers who took a brilliant low diving catch to end Agha's knock. The incident occurred on the 2nd ball of the 15th over.
Fans Slam Pakistan Batters For Lack Of Intent
The fans were hurt by Pakistan's performance as the Men in Green opted for younger players to play carefree and intentful cricket against Zimbabwe. However, the players didn't go for agressive approach and were rather defensive going forward.
Players likes Usman Khan, Saim Ayub were criticised for their approach as the fans expected the Men in Green to put 200+ total in the ongoing match. Talking about the match, at the time of writing this article, Zimbabwe are 36/2 after 4 overs with Abrar Ahmed striking twice.
