Tim David demonstrated his wares on the field by pulling out a sensational direct hit runout against UP Nawabs in the first eliminator of the Abu Dhabi T10 League 2024 season. Turning up for Delhi Bulls at Abu Dhabi’s Zayed Cricket Stadium, the hard-hitting Australian cricketer caught Adil Rashid nearly a yard short of his crease in the final over of the UP Nawabs innings.
Delhi Bulls ended up winning the contest by eight wickets to qualify for the next round of the competition.

While Tim David did not get to bat for Delhi Bulls in their emphatic eight-wicket win against UP Nawabs in the first eliminator, the gun Australian fielder made his presence felt on the field with two runouts, including a direct hit to dismiss number eight batter Adil Rashid.
The RCB recruit, fielding at long-off, picked up the ball from the deep and caught a sprinting Rashid nearly a yard short of his crease.
Earlier in the match, Tim David also accounted for the wicket of UP Nawabs opener Avishka Fernando with a runout, while receiving much assistance from Delhi Bulls wicketkeeper Tom Banton in the first over.
Overall, UP Nawabs managed to haul just 98-7 from 10 overs after being put into bat first. Captain and opening batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz top-scored in the innings with a swift 27 at the top of the order, while Curtis Campher (18 off 11) and Odean Smith (16* off 9) also chipped in with handy runs in the backend.
For the Delhi Bulls, Muhammad Rohid picked up two wickets at an expense of 22 runs from two overs. Fazalhaq Farooqi, Shahid Bhutta and Salman Irshad also picked up a wicket each in their respective spells.
Chasing 99 for a spot in the second eliminator, Tom Banton whacked an unbeaten 50* from 22 balls to steer the Bulls to victory in just 7.1 overs.
