Taking field at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo in match number one of the competition, Malhotra snared a sharp catch at second slip to help India Under-19 fast bowler Henil Patel get rid of USA opener Amrinder Gill in just the second over of the match.
Patel’s early strike and Malhotra’s agility paved way for India to inflict more damage to the USA batters, with USA losing five of their top six batters within the first 16 overs for just 39 on the board.

Indian fast bowler Henil Patel struck in his first over, and the second of the match, by accounting for the dismissal of USA Under-19 opener Amrinder Gill. Sending down a good length delivery and probing around the fifth stump line, Patel got Amrinder edging towards the slip cordon with some extra pace and bounce, and just a bit of movement.
RCB recruit and teenage batting sensation Vihaan Malhotra, stationed at second slip, charged in his front to grab a stunning catch as Gill made his way back to the crease. With this catch, Malhotra surely has made his future RCB mate, Virat Kohli proud. Kohli, is known for his athleticism, and Malhotra showed every bit of it in his fielding efforts.
Henil Patel also knocked over USA captain Utkarsh Srivastava and well-set wicketkeeper-batter Arjun Mahesh in quick succession. New ball paceman Deepesh Devendran and left-arm spinner Khilan Patel also chipped in with a wicket each early in the game as the USA Under-19 crashed to a precarious 39-5 in 16 overs.
Who is Vihaan Malhotra?
