Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women will take on Mumbai Indians Women in the 7th match of the ongoing WPL season on Friday (February 21). In a significant development, Mumbai Indians Women have won the toss and opted to bowl first.

TOSS UPDATE: Mumbai Indians Women have won the toss and opted to bowl first.

The RCB has made a dream start to their WPL campaign, securing back-to-back victories. The Smriti Mandhana-led side kicked off the tournament with a record-breaking run chase against Gujarat Giants Women in the curtain raiser. They followed it up with a dominant eight-wicket win over the two-time runners-up, Delhi Capitals Women.

The energy and confidence within the camp will be high as they step into their home ground, M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

On the other hand, Mumbai Indians will be looking to build momentum after a mixed start. They suffered a two-wicket loss to the Capitals in their opening fixture but bounced back strongly with a five-wicket victory over the Giants in their second game.

RCB-W vs MI-W: Captains' Thoughts

Smriti Mandhana (Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women Captain): “Definitely. It’s good to be back. I’m having the best time in the world, coming back here. (On fans' support) It’s massive for the team to have fans around. It motivates us and whatever we do, we do it for them. All are really calm. All girls are sure that cricket is a game that you start from zero. No one is taking anything for granted and we are looking forward to this game. I don’t mind batting first. Looks a good wicket to bat on. I don’t think there will be much dew here as we saw in Vadodara. We are going with the same XI.”

Harmanpreet Kaur (Mumbai Indians Women Captain): "We are going to bowl first. We have seen the conditions in the first half here are good for bowling and we want to take advantage of it. We had a lot of fun last year in Bengaluru and we are looking forward to this game tonight. We are unchanged."
