Premier spinner Rashid Khan showcased his incredible fielding attributes as his bullet throw sent Ryan Rickelton packing in Afghanistan's Champions Trophy encounter against South Africa in Karachi. Opening the batting for South Africa, Rickelton slammed a flamboyant century before Rashid's remarkable fielding effort dismissed him. 

Rashid's Excellent Fielding Gets Rid Of Ryan Rickelton

The incident occurred during the 36th over of South Africa's innings when Afghanistan desperately needed someone to break the third-wicket stand between Rickelton and Rassie van der Dussen. Although Rashid didn't manage to get a breakthrough with his bowling, his agility on the field provided the Afghans with Rickelton's massive wicket. 

From over the wicket, Rashid Khan bowled a full-length delivery which Rickelton drove straight down the ground by using his feet. However, Rashid put up a commendable effort on his follow through, collecting the ball and throwing towards the keeper before the batter could reach the striker's end. 

As soon as Rahmanullah Gurbaz whipped off the bails, the square leg umpire referred it to the TV umpire. As Rickelton's bat was in the air at the time the bails were dislodged, the third umpire declared him out. 

South Africa In A Commanding Position vs Afghanistan

Riding on Rickelton's scintillating century and flamboyant fifties from Bavuma and Van der Dussen, South Africa have raced to 258 for four in 43.4 overs. As of writing, Aiden Markram and David Miller were unbeaten, batting on 16* and 7*, respectively.
