South Africa's stylish batter Ryan Rickelton had a fantastic start to the ICC Champions Trophy, as he smashed a flamboyant half century to set the tone for a solid score for his side. After winning the toss, South African captain Temba Bavuma opted to bat in order to make the most of the conditions in Karachi.

South Africa had a poor start to their innings, losing Tony de Zorzi for eleven runs in the sixth over. However, Rickelton held the fort for the Proteas, forming a consolidating stand with skipper Bavuma for the second wicket. 

After taking some time to get his eyes in, Ryan Rickelton hammered the Afghans to all parts of the ground, eventually bringing up a scintillating fifty. His valiant knock provided the Proteas with a magnificent start, helping them claim the diving seat early in the match. 

Ryan Rickelton's IPL 2025 Team And Price

Ryan Rickelton bagged his maiden IPL contract in the mega auction last year. The swashbuckling southpaw was purchased by Mumbai Indians for INR 1 Crore, which was his base price. So, he will represent the Hardik Pandya-led team in the upcoming Indian Premier League season. 

It's worth mentioning that Rickelton plays for MI's sister franchise MI Cape Town in the SA20. He had a stellar SA20 season in 2025, scoring 336 runs at an average of 48 and a strike rate of 178.72. His incredible performance was a major reason behind MI's triumph and he would like to replicate a similar success with Mumbai Indians in the IPL.
