The Barbados Royals and the Trinbago Knight Riders are up against each other in the 15th match of the CPL 2024. This match is being played at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados.

Akeal Hosein gives a magical start to the Knights

The skipper of the Trinbago Knight Riders, Kieron Pollard, won the toss ahead of the game and opted to field first. Akeal Hosein got the Knights off to a brilliant start, picking up two wickets in the first over. With Rahkeem Cornwall and Alick Athanaze departing on the second and fourth deliveries of the first over, the onus was on Quinton de Kock to stabilise the innings for the Royals.

The South African opening batter looked to be in brilliant touch. He had the rhythm going for himself, and it was looking like De Kock would play an innings of substance in the match. The southpaw slammed Terrance Hinds for 20 runs in the fifth over and got them back into the game.

Pollard's bowling changed worked for the Knight Riders

Quinton de Kock held the key at this point. The Knight Riders were well aware that the wicket of the batter would put them way ahead in the game.

To see de Kock's back, Pollard introduced the Afghan wrist spinner, Waqar Salamkheil, into the attack. This change worked out for the Knights as Salamkheil sent de Kock back to the hut in the third delivery of the over.

Salamkheil tossed the ball outside the off stump and turned back into the batter after pitching. De Kock failed to spot the googly as he was found playing outside the line. There was a gap between the bat and the pads; the ball snuck through the gap and crashed into the stumps, ending de Kock's (39 off 21 deliveries) in the middle.

The fall of de Kock was followed by the wicket of Jason Holder pretty soon, and the Royals were in all sorts of trouble.
