Out of favour Indian opener Prithvi Shaw is playing for Northamptonshire in the ongoing One-Day Cup 2023 in England in hopes of gaining form. In his maiden outing for Northamptonshire, Shaw slammed 35-ball 34, which included two fours and one six against Gloucestershire in a Group B encounter at Cheltenham.
However, it was Shaw's mode of dismissal that caught everyone's attention and not his batting. While facing Paul van Meekeran in the 15th over, Shaw ended up being hit-wicket on the final ball.
Meekeran bowled a sharp bouncer, which the Mumbai-born missed while trying to hook, and had a stumble, unfortunately knocking over his stumps during the fall.

With Shaw's wicket, Northamptonshire found themselves in trouble going six down for 54, while chasing 279. Skipper Lewis McManus and Tom Taylor added 86 runs for the seventh wicket before the former fell for 54.
Earlier, a century from Graeme van Buuren and fifty from Anwar Ali helped Gloucestershire post 278 after being put into bat by Northamptonshire.
As of writing, Taylor (62*) is batting alongside Jack White (17*), with Northamptonshire on 188 for 8, needing more additional 91 to win.
