Krishna dismissed Bancroft [Source: @mufaddal_vohra/X.Com]
India A have had a horror show in the ongoing series Vs Australia A, and the trend continued on the morning of Day 3 of the second unofficial Test as well. The famed Indian batting lineup crumbled against a hostile Aussie bowling and got bundled out for 229 in their second innings.
As a result, Australia needed 168 runs to seal the series, 2-0. To win the contest and knock over Australia cheaply, India needed a solid start with the ball in hand, and it was provided by the lanky Prasidh Krishna, who dismissed Marcus Harris and Cameron Bancroft for golden ducks.
The conditions favoured the fast bowlers and Krishna seized the opportunity as he dismantled the top-order with his hostile bowling. The carnage started with the big scalp of Marcus Harris. He bowled a fuller length ball outside the off and Harris got an outside-edge which was safely taken by the keeper.
However, the best of the lot was yet to come as he bowled a deadly yorker to Bancroft and trapped him on the front leg as both the batters departed without troubling the scorers.
India A batters falter as defeat still looms large
For the unofficial tour of Australia before the Test series, the Indian contingents had some brilliant batters in the squad, but barring Dhruv Jurel, almost everyone failed.
Sai Sudharsan scored a century in the first Test, but the likes of KL Rahul, Abhimanyu Easwaran and Ruturaj Gaikwad, all disappointed as India got bundled out for 161, and 229 in their combined two innings in the ongoing Test match.
The Indian bowlers were terrific throughout the series, but the batters lacked the patience and technique to survive in tricky conditions as India are on the verge of defeat.
