It seems the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the controversies around the board never get old. And on Saturday, just before England and Australia met for an all-important Champions Trophy match, they made headlines yet again.
The incident happened during England players were lined up for their national anthem. Then, out of nowhere, India's national anthem Jana-gana-mana was played. Of course, it was nothing but embarrassing for the PCB, as such mistakes should not happen at such a major ICC event.
PCB And Pakistan Face Backlash Again!
Of course, netizens did not take much time to make the moment viral on social media, and no wonder, they made fun of the PCB for such mismanagement. Even England's players did not like the event, as it should never have happened.
At the time of writing this, England, after Steve Smith asked them to bat first, are 51/2 after 6.2 overs, with Ben Duckett and Joe Root in the middle, batting on 14* and 5* respectively. The new No. 3 Jamie Smith did not last long, while Alex Carey pulled off an absolute stunner to leave Phil Salt stunned a few moments earlier.
It is important to note that this is the first game of both Australia and England, who are pooled into Group B along with South Africa and Afghanistan. With South Africa already registering a thumping win over Afghanistan to boost their NRR, the winner of this fixture for semi-final qualifications become more crucial.
