The Abu Dhabi Knight Riders are playing against the Gulf Giants in the 12th match of the ILT20 20225. The match is taking place at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The Giants won the toss for the game and opted to field first in the match. After a steady start by the Knights, the Giants made a come back into the game with two quick wickets. However, the balance of the game kept shifting throughout the first innings as the two teams kept delivering counterpunches.

Michael Pepper Jelps Knight Riders To A Competitive Total

Courtesy of an outstanding 57 off 35 by Michael Pepper, the Knight Riders posted a competitive total of 175 runs on the board at the end of their 20 overs. The total looked like a fighting one, as the wicket had something in it for players of all trades.

Even though it was a good total that the Knights put on the board, they could have gone well past the 200 mark if their big-hitting finisher, Andre Russell, lasted long. However, that did not happen, courtesy of the Namibian international skipper Gerhard Erasmus.

Andre Russell Left In Shock By Erasmus' Effort

Just when it looked like Russell had settled down and had the launching pad ready, Erasmus turned Spider-Man in the boundary to dismiss 'The Giant'. It was the second delivery of the 15th over by Ayaan Khan to Russell. The bowler bowled a full delivery at the middle and leg stump line. Russell cleared his front leg and went for the big heave over mid-wicket. But all he managed was a top edge. Yet, the ball was sailing over the long-off fence for a maximum due to his power.

However, in the deep, Gerhard Erasmus timed his jump to perfection to take a one-handed grab and flick the ball back into play. Ibrahim Zadran backing up completed the effort and brought about the end of Russell in the middle. The effort was so stunning and amazing that Andre Russell himself could not believe the catch had been completed and was shocked by it.
