The Indian team has announced the squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The overall squad looks pretty balanced and has almost all bases covered.

There are a few complaints you can make about the Indian squad that will be playing in the tournament as a fan. However, due to the limitation of selecting only 15 players in the squad, some talented players might have been ignored by the selection committee and the head coach of India.

In this article, we will look at three players from the RCB side who might have missed out on a spot in the Champions Trophy squad.

3. Devdutt Padikkal

The young left-handed batter has been superbly consistent in List A cricket this season. Devdutt Padikkal has scored runs on a regular basis and made impactful contributions to the team in the recently concluded Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25. India have a powerful top-order and it would have been difficult to include him into the squad. However, given his brilliant displays, Padikkal could have gone with the team as a travelling reserve.

2 . Jitesh Sharma

The young Indian wicket-keeper batter is known for his dynamic batting in the middle-order. Jitesh Sharma is a player who can adapt himself to the demands and situation of a match and pace his innings accordingly. His ability to finish innings positively impacts the team; Sharma could have been a valuable addition to the squad, adding depth and flexibility in the batting.

1. Rajat Patidar

The right-handed top-order batter was one of the main reasons that RCB scripted a dramatic turnaround in the second half of their IPL 2024 campaign. Rajat Patidar can anchor innings coming at the top and bring dynamism to the innings progression with his big-hitting abilities. However, India are already stuffed with top-tier talents for the spot where he generally bats. So, his getting a chance in the CT 2025 was always too far-fetched. But Patidar going as a travelling reserve could have helped India keep an able backup ready for their high-class talent in the first squad.
